The West Springfield Park & Recreation Department is pleased to host the second Family Color Run on the 4^th of July! Beginning at 11:30AM, participants will run a course around the Town Common’s newly refinished path while powdered color is thrown through the air. 

Shortly after the Color Run, the West Springfield Lions Club will be selling concessions for all who wish to purchase and stay on the Common for performances from Ed Popielarczyk, Dan Kane & Friends, and Soiree.

Ed Popielarczyk is a professional magician, balloon sculptor and storyteller who has been entertaining children and family audiences for over 35 years. He will be on the Common making balloon art for all who attend the July 4^th festivities.

The Dan Kane Singers have been a favorite singing group in the valley for decades. Their several sold out concerts at Springfield Symphony Hall and The Mass Mutual Center are legendary. Each year this 150 member group partnered with the Peter Pan Bus Company and Big Y World Class Markets to produce massive Christmas Concerts attended by thousands of wonderful fans.

Dan has taught and mentored hundreds of young singers throughout the years. After 35 years, the group has evolved into a smaller more versatile group that is able to perform in many venues throughout Western Mass. They want to sing the songs that everyone loves to hear. Hits from the American Songbook, Broadway, Motown and Pops. This group is very diverse as it features not only fabulous adult singers but showcases many young and up and coming singers from within the various communities.

Soirée is one of the greatest and versatile big bands of Western Mass. Screaming guitars, resounding horn section, slamming drums, and soulful vocals will energize you back to the days of Fun and Rock & Roll. We’ll take you back to the 1960s and then onward to today.

Like a certain kind of song?  Pop/rock, Funk, Swing, Latin, Hard and Classic Rock – we play it all. 

Like certain artists? You’ll hear the best of Doobie Brothers, Van Morrison, Jersey Boys, Chicago, Carol King, Jen Lopez, The Knack, Vehicle, Steely Dan, Journey, Stevie Wonder, Santana, Earth Wind & Fire and Pink as well as some oldies like Major Lance, J.J. Jackson, Martha and the Vandellas and the Chiffons.
