The West Springfield Police Department and Fire Department lobbies are closed to the public for non-emergencies.

It’s time! Spaces in Summer Programs are still available! Register today!

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, this will not be a typical registration process. Please read ALL INFORMATION to prepare yourself before registering. Download our Summer Program Flyer here.

We understand that this is a more rigorous process than usual, however, in order to provide a safe space for your children and to follow restrictions set in place by State and Local authorities, these measures are necessary. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time and hope we can provide some enjoyment for your children in light of the current situation.

Town Museum Grand Opening

The Town of West Springfield Historic Commission, with sponsorship from West Springfield Park and Recreation Department, is opening its town museum to the public on Saturday, December 14, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  Subsequently, the town museum will be open on the first Saturday of each month from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM or by appointment. 

The museum is located at 55 Altamont Avenue in West Springfield. Its exhibits consist of local historic artifacts, models of 18th and 19th century town buildings and churches, historical toys, military artifacts from local Civil War soldiers, and artifacts from notable town locations, such as Mittineague Park and the early 1900s Bear Hole Resort.  The 19th century horse-drawn carriage, used by West Springfield’s first Town Doctor, will also be on display.

Members from the Historical Commission will be present to answer questions and discuss town history.
