Draft Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan - Feedback Wanted

Post Date:02/03/2020 8:34 AM

Over the past year, the Town has been working to update our Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan with assistance from the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission and with funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). This planning effort has been undertaken to help the Town assess the risks faced from natural hazards, identify action steps that can be taken to prevent damage to property and loss of life, and prioritize funding for mitigation efforts. A mitigation action is any action taken to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from hazards.

All members of the public, representatives from surrounding communities and other interested parties are invited to comment on the draft plan. All comments must be received by March 4, 2020 in order to be considered for inclusion in the final plan draft.

Comments can be sent to: amanuel@townofwestspringfield.org or delivered to the Planning Department on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Office Building.

We thank you in advance for your time and feedback!
