Town of West Springfield’s Veterans Day Events 2024
This year Veterans Day takes place November 11, 2024, when we will salute our country’s greatest patriots who have served in the military. This is an opportunity where the Town of West Springfield invites you to honor our Veterans. “Throughout the course of American history, courageous men and women have taken up arms to secure, defend and maintain these core principles upon which our nation’s freedoms depend” President George W. Bridge Ceremonies:
The Bridge Ceremony will be held at the Vietnam Veterans Bridge, West Springfield (West Springfield Crossing into Agawam Side off Front Street). Gathering will begin at 6:45am and the Ceremony will start at 7:00am.
Parade:
In celebration of Veteran’s Day, the Town of West Springfield is hosting its annual Veterans Day Parade. Please join us on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 10:00am. The parade route is approximately 2 miles long, beginning at St. Thomas School and ending at the West Springfield Town Hall on 26 Central Street.
Ceremony:
Following the parade, we invite you to attend our ceremony at the West Springfield Town Hall starting at approximately 11:00am, located at 26 Central Street, West Springfield, MA 01089. This will take place this year on November 11, 2024. The service will begin with Master of Ceremonies, SSG Marc Massey, U.S. Army retired; the Presentation of Colors by the Massachusetts National Guard, West Springfield Police and Fire Department Honor Guards. Following their presentation, we will hear remarks from Mayor William Reichelt, West Springfield Veterans of the Year and Business of the year.
