WEST SPRINGFIELD WINS READER RAVES’ “BEST CITY TO LIVE IN” FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW
West Springfield, MA: The Republican and MassLive have notified Mayor William Reichelt that West Springfield was chosen as the “Best City to Live In” in their annual Reader Raves poll. This is the second consecutive year that West Springfield has won this honor.
Mayor Reichelt was excited for West Springfield to receive this distinction again, commenting: “I was thrilled to learn that West Springfield was chosen for the second year in a row as the winner of the ‘Best City to Live In’ category of Reader Raves. We are incredibly honored to be recognized with this distinction and it is a testament to the vibrancy of West Side’s community. We are proud to be a city where residents and businesses thrive and we look forward to continued growth and excellence.”
“This is a particularly special year for West Springfield to earn this distinction, as it is currently celebrating the 250th anniversary of West Springfield’s incorporation. West Side has a long history of being a community like no other, and we continue that excellence today. Time and time again, we hear stories of neighbors helping neighbors, of the community welcoming new residents from places all over the world, and of the community coming together to support one another.”
Whether you have lived in West Side your entire life or you just recently moved here, it doesn’t take long to realize what a great place this is to live, work and raise a family. West Springfield has grown so much as a community over the past several years. The Town has experienced a resurgence of its downtown Central Business District, which is expected to continue following the infrastructure investments that were made to the area. In addition to the many local businesses that contribute to our community and attract countless visitors, West Springfield is home to the largest fair in New England, the Eastern States Exposition, which is an incredibly unique attraction for the area.
Mayor Reichelt further stated, “We truly appreciate receiving this incredible distinction and we want to thank all of the residents who voted for West Side. We are excited to celebrate and can’t wait to see what the next 250 years have in store for our community.”
