Water Use Restriction In Effect

Please be advised a water ban is in effect starting July 15, 2019 until the end of December of 2019. The Town of West Springfield is implementing a water use restriction due to service on the Pease Ave water tank. This water use restriction covers non-essential outside watering; watering will be permitted from 5pm-9am.

Overview

The Town of West Springfield Planning Board is composed of 5 members and 1 alternate, all of whom are volunteers appointed by the Mayor. The Planning Board holds regularly scheduled meetings on the first and third Wednesday of each month. The meetings begin at 6pm and are held in the Justin Morgan Auditorium on the second floor of the Municipal Office Building, located at 26 Central Street.

The responsibilities of the Planning Board include reviewing and acting upon applications for site plan review, special permits, subdivision plans, and non-subdivision plans. Also among the Board’s duties is reviewing and making recommendations to the Town Council on proposed zoning map and ordinance amendments, preparing and updating the Town’s Master Plan, and initiating other planning projects and studies.

Application submissions, correspondence and other business of the Board is coordinated by the Planning Division staff.
