Founded in 1986, the Parish Cupboard is a registered non-profit organization whose mission is, quite simply, to support needy families and individuals in West Springfield, Agawam, and Feeding Hills by providing food and meals.
The Parish Cupboard provides these meals through two programs:
1. Emergency Food Program: Registered households, who must prove residency and need, may receive groceries once a month. This food support may include bread, produce, canned and boxed items, peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, and anything else on hand. Each month, approximately 200 families come in for groceries.
2. The Hot Lunch Program: The Parish Cupboard Dining Room is open to anyone, five days a week. Many people depend on the Parish Cupboard for a substantial and nutritious meal. Approximately 768 lunches per month are given out.
