Missing Person: The West Springfield Police Department has been actively looking for a missing person since Sunday afternoon on January 26th. This man was last seen in the Mittineague park area of town and there is concern for his well-being. We are asking residents in the Mittineague park area to check their property for signs of anything suspicious. Also, please contact the West Springfield Police Department if you observed anyone walking around your neighborhood this past Sunday. The man we are looking for is a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with red hair and hazel eyes. You can get more information and a photograph of the missing person on our Facebook Page. Youth Cheerleading

The West Springfield Cheerleading Association, sponsored by the West Springfield Park and Recreation Department, is proud to present the 2020 season for all children in grades 3-8. 

Youth Cheerleading consists of 3 age groups

Pee Wees (3rd and 4th Grade)

Juniors (5th and 6th Grade)

Seniors (7th and 8th Grade)

  • Registration typically will take place middle of April - beginning of May (exact dates will vary)

  • Cheer will start at the end of May

  • Cheer clinics will be held April 8th, 9th, and 10th from 6:00pm-7:30pm. We encourage at least one parent whose child is interested in cheering to attend the April 9th clinic with their child, even if your child has done cheerleading before. (see below for more information regarding clinics)

  • Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning July 16th.

  • Cheer season follows the West Springfield Suburban Youth Football schedule. Games typically start in September.

Cheerleading Clinic

The West Springfield Youth Cheerleading Association, in partnership with the West Springfield Park and Recreation Department, invites students entering grades 3-8 to join us for this clinic and find out what cheer is all about.

Monday April 8th, Tuesday April 9th, & Wednesday April 10th, 2019 from 6:00-7:30 pm @ The West Springfield High School Gymnasium. 

Open to NEW and RETURNING Participants. 

Participants will learn new cheers, dance routines & jumps.

Learn about the time commitment & costs associated with WSYCA.

What to wear: sneakers, no loose clothing, and no jewelry. Shorts & t-shirts preferred. Bring a water bottle with name on it.

It is MANDATORY for one parent to attend the April 9th clinic even if your child has participated in this program before, as waivers will need to be signed prior to participating.

Important Information will be communicated that first evening. Nights 1 & 2 will teach cheers and Night 3 will have fun evaluations & performances!

There is NO FEE for the Clinic.
