Starting June 27th, Eversource Gas, through it's contractor, Infrasource, will begin the intersection and tie-over work for the 16 inch gas replacement project at the following locations:
Lane closures are required on the street, as well as the Morgan Sullivan Bridge for this work to be accomplished and will likely result in traffic delay. This work will likely continue through July 15th, but work will not be permitted on July 4th or 5th.
Attention: Tender of payment to some Property Owners has been unclaimed / "returned to sender" two or more times for the following properties:
Attempts to contact property owners will cease after the second attempt. Owners on record at the time of the recorded easement, who wish to collect damages awarded as part of this project, must contact the DPW at 413-263-3242 for instruction on how to accept the tender of payment.
As part of this project, it was necessary for the Town to allocate funds for just compensation in relation to the Right of Way (ROW) easement acquisition. On May 5th, 2022, the Department of Public Works distributed notices for tendering of payment to the abutters of this project impacted by the permanent or temporary easements on their property. It has come to the DPWs attention that the original payment timeline of five days within receipt of the returned form enclosed with notice will not be feasible.
Compensation checks will be mailed within 15 business days from receipt of the required W-9 Form.
