Coronavirus Update 3/11/20

I want to provide a brief update regarding the coronavirus following the Governor’s Press Conference yesterday (linked below). Locally, I have been meeting daily with our Emergency Management team to address the evolving concern and spread of the corona pandemic. As we have more information, and take additional action, I will release that information both on our Social Media platforms and through our website.
We are treating each scenario that arises on a case by case basis and taking appropriate action that fits the facts of the scenario supported by evidence. As I mentioned yesterday, HIPAA laws prevent us from sharing some information, but understand that we are acting based on all the information available to us.
Our Central Maintenance will be deep cleaning one school every night, beginning immediately, and continue throughout the District on a rolling basis until further notice. They have stocked up on FDA/CDC approved cleaning supplies and have already begun a heightened level of cleaning, beyond what is already in place for the flu season, throughout all our buildings.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult period and I hope we can all continue to work cooperatively to stem potential panic and ensure our community weathers the problems as seamlessly as possible.
If you have any questions please contact me at mayor@tows.org or by calling 263-3041 and continue to wash your hands!
