The Spring Equinox this year arrives on March 19. Earth’s axis is then perpendicular to the sun, making day and night just about equal. In the northern hemisphere plants emerge from the ground, animals emerge from hibernation, birds return from their southern winter homes, and we humans spend more time outdoors, plant our gardens and become more energized. Symbolically, it’s a time of renewal, rebirth, transition and balance between light and darkness. Many cultures mark this time with celebrations and rituals. Perhaps your own culture or family has a special way of honoring this time.

On Friday, March 22, at the beautiful West Springfield Public Library, we will gather to celebrate this special time of re-awakening. Nature helps us in many significant ways and in this Mini-Retreat we will think about how we humans relate to Nature's changes.

Dori will lead you through some deep breathing and muscle relaxation to awaken your mind and body for a short seasonally relevant guided meditation. This will be followed by a creative response inspired by that experience, such as a drawing, poetry, dance, or music (as the spirit moves you).

Dori will be offering three additional Arts and Meditation Mini-Retreats at this Library: June 21, September 21 and December 14. Attend just one, or a combination of any or all. Please be sure to register.
