Junior Police Academy

The West Springfield Park & Recreation Department, in partnership with the West Springfield Police Department, is excited to offer a Junior Police Academy, for children ages 9-11 as of September 1, 2024 at the West Springfield High School. At the Junior Police Academy, children will experience first-hand what it is like to be a Police Officer. This includes marching exercises, defensive tactics, investigating crimes, mock accidents/crime scenes, K-9 demonstrations, a field trip to a local ropes course and much more. Parents will need to provide their own transportation to and from, provide their own breakfast/lunch/snack and bring a water bottle for their child. Participants will receive a complimentary t-shirt.

Online

Online registration is the fastest way to register. Registration for West Springfield Residents begins at 8:00AM on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Non-Residents can register beginning at 8:00AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Registrations are put through on a first come, first served basis.

  • Click here to reach our Online Registration Site
  • Log in with your credentials. Contact the Park & Recreation Office (parkandrec@tows.org) for assistance with your username and password or to get help setting up an account.
  • Choose "Junior Police Academy", pick the activity you are interested in, add to cart, and check out. 
  • Continue to the payment screen. This will allow you to use a credit/debit card to pay for your programs. 
  • Complete a Form A(PDF, 580KB) and email it back to us at parkandrec@tows.org with a copy of your child's most recent immunization records.
  • Check your email! Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, a newsletter will be emailed to you with detailed information regarding the camp.

IN-PERSON:

Another option for registration is bringing your paperwork and payment (cash/check ONLY) into the Town Hall. Visit the Park & Recreation Office Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00AM - 4:30PM or during our special office hours on Saturday, March 23, from 8:00AM - 11:00AM. A staff member will assist you. Registration for West Springfield Residents begins at 8:00AM on Saturday, March 23, 2024Non-Residents can register beginning at 8:00AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Registrations are put through on a first come, first served basis.

  • Complete a Form A(PDF, 580KB) and bring it to us with a copy of your child's most recent immunization records.

  • Make checks payable to "Town of West Springfield" or pay in cash. (CASH/CHECK ONLY!)

  • Check your email! Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, a newsletter will be emailed to you with detailed information regarding the camp.

Using the White Drop Box located on the median outside of the Municipal Office Building is another option for Registration. Registration for West Springfield Residents begins at 8:00AM on Saturday, March 23, 2024Non-Residents can register beginning at 8:00AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Registrations are put through on a first come, first served basis.

  • Complete a Form A(PDF, 580KB) and bring it to us with a copy of your child's most recent immunization records.
  • Make checks payable to "Town of West Springfield" (CHECKS ONLY in Drop Box!)
  • Write "Park and Recreation Department" on the front of a blank envelope
  • Place in the White Drop Box located outside of the Municipal Office Building at 26 Central St.
  • Check your email! Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, a newsletter will be emailed to you with detailed information regarding the camp.
