J. Anthony “Tony” Di Giore was a well-known and iconic figure in his beloved hometown of West Springfield. He was a tireless advocate of music and the arts, in town and for the region.

After serving his country in the army during the Korean Conflict, Tony returned home to serve his community. He was a celebrated music educator in the West Springfield Schools for 36 years. He planned the West Springfield Parks & Recreation Department’s Summer Concert series for 56 years. And for 50 years, Tony was a member of the West Springfield Arts Council (Now the West Springfield Cultural Council).

“Tony touched so many lives, his students, the people of his hometown and so many others with his talent and the gift of music and art for all. We are so pleased to be able to keep his legacy alive with this scholarship,” said Donna LaConti, Chair of the West Springfield Cultural Council.

“Tony’s family recently made an additional contribution to his scholarship. We may be able to award two scholarships this year because of their generosity,” said LaConti
