Cultural Council Announces Exciting Lineup of May Events

West Springfield, MA — The West Springfield Cultural Council is proud to present a vibrant schedule of events throughout the month of May, offering a rich variety of cultural, artistic, and community-centered programs for residents of all ages. From live music and dance to art exhibitions and educational workshops, this month’s offerings highlight the creativity and spirit of West Springfield.
“We are thrilled to bring so many opportunities for residents to engage with the arts and celebrate our diverse community,” said West Springfield Cultural Council. “May is the perfect time to come together, explore, and be inspired.”
May 2025 Events Schedule:
May 6 – Beginner Dance Series: Waltz, Rumba, Swing
West Springfield Public Library
Residents can learn popular ballroom styles in a welcoming beginner-friendly series.
May 9 – WSMPA Pops Concert: West Springfield High School Band and Choir
West Springfield High School
Presented by the West Springfield Music Parents Association, this annual concert showcases the musical talents of local high school students.
May 14 – Community Engagement: Art Exhibition & Culture Festival
West Springfield Boys & Girls Club, Inc.
An interactive celebration of visual art and cultural expression from community members and youth.
May 17 – Sarah Clay: Games People Play
West Springfield Public Library
Enjoy an engaging performance of music and storytelling with acclaimed performer Sarah Clay.
May 29 – Think Big, Dream Big, and Go Big
Coburn Elementary School
An uplifting community event designed to encourage imagination, confidence, and creative thinking among students.

Memorial and John Ashley Schools
Inspired by the beloved children’s author and illustrator, these workshops foster artistic exploration and literacy for young learners.
9/11 Memorial Garden Project
Park Street Town Green
In partnership with the West Springfield Garden Club, this ongoing initiative honors the lives lost on September 11 through the creation and care of a community garden.
All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. The West Springfield Cultural Council encourages families, students, and community members to take part in these enriching experiences throughout the month.
