West Springfield, MA: The Town of West Springfield Department of Public Works (“DPW”) is hosting its annual Household Hazardous Waste (“HHW”) Collection Day on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event will take place at the DPW Yard, located at 430 Westfield Street.
This event provides residents with a safe, environmentally responsible way to dispose of household hazardous materials, including items such as paints, chemicals, pesticides, and other approved materials listed on the HHW flyer.
Key Information for Participants:
By Appointment Only: Residents must schedule an appointment to participate. Fifteen appointments are available every 10 minutes.

Required Information: Participants will need to provide their name, address, phone number, and a list of items being dropped off, including approximate weight or volume.
Traffic Instructions: Enter the DPW Yard via the back gate off Burke Avenue and exit onto Route 20. Following these directions will help control traffic and ensure a smooth flow of vehicles.
This collection day is held once a year and is an important opportunity for West Springfield residents to safely dispose of hazardous household materials, helping to protect the community and the environment.
