West Springfield Residents Show Strong Support for Town’s Communication Strategies

West Springfield, MA:  A recent community survey conducted through FlashVote reveals growing satisfaction among residents with the Town of West Springfield’s communication efforts. Completed by nearly 400 residents between May 12 and May 14, 2025, the survey found that a combined 57% of participants rated the Town’s communication as either “Good” or “Excellent.” Only a small percentage, 12%, expressed dissatisfaction, highlighting a positive trend in how the Town shares information with the community.

Mayor William Reichelt emphasized the significance of these results, stating, “This feedback reinforces what we’ve been working hard to accomplish. Whether it’s through emails, social media, or text alerts, we’re focused on meeting people where they are and keeping them informed.”

The survey showed that many residents are already engaging with the Town through digital platforms, with Facebook and the Town’s website being the most commonly used sources of information in the past year. Looking ahead, participants expressed a clear preference for receiving future updates via email and text messages. These preferences confirm the Town’s ongoing strategy to prioritize direct, accessible communication.

In terms of content, residents indicated a strong interest in updates on infrastructure projects and practical tips related to Town services such as trash collection, water conservation, and public safety. The feedback also highlighted a desire for timely information on policies, financial matters, and development activity, indicating that residents value transparency and actionable updates.

Participants provided thoughtful suggestions to further enhance communication efforts. While several respondents praised recent improvements, such as increased outreach via social media, email, and text notifications, others recommended enhancements like simplifying messages on electronic signs and improving the usability of the Town’s website.

The Town plans to use these results to continue refining its approach to communications. Potential initiatives include a website redesign to improve navigation, expanded text notification options, and broader coverage of topics identified as priorities by the community.

“Clear, timely, and consistent communication builds trust and connection in our community,” said Mayor Reichelt. “We’re grateful for the input and look forward to continuing this momentum.”

It is important not only for the Town of West Springfield to continue improving its communication efforts, but also for residents to take an active role in staying informed. Signing up for FlashVote www.flashvote.com/r/-1WFO6S allows community members to stay up to date with current surveys.
