Town Museum

The Town of West Springfield Historic Commission and Park & Recreation Department are proud to present West Springfield's first Town Museum!

The town museum is located at 55 Altamont Avenue in West Springfield. Its exhibits consist of local historic artifacts, models of 18th and 19th century town buildings and churches, historical toys, military artifacts from local Civil War soldiers, and artifacts from notable town locations, such as Mittineague Park and the early 1900s Bear Hole Resort. The 19th century horse-drawn carriage, used by West Springfield’s first Town Doctor, will also be on display.

From 1:00PM to 3:00PM on the first Saturday of every month, stop by to see the newest additions to each exhibit and chat with the West Springfield Historic Commission.

Members from the Historic Commission will be present to answer questions and discuss town history.

For more information, please call West Springfield Park and Recreation Department at (413) 263-3284.
