Torpedoes Competitive Swim Team

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE SUMMER 2026 SEASON

Pre-Registration and payment is required by 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

The West Springfield Torpedoes Competitive Swim Team, sponsored by the West Springfield Park & Recreation Department, is scheduled to begin their season on Monday, April 27, 2026.

COMPETITIVE SWIM TEAM TRY-OUTS

Begin Date: Monday, APRIL 27, 2026

Practice times vary based on swimmer's ability. The Head Coach will place swimmer in the appropriate swim practice time.

Practice times are as follows: 

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays ~ PRACTICE A: 5:45pm - 6:45pm & PRACTICE B: 6:30pm - 8:15pm.

Practices are held at the West Springfield High School Sady Pool (425 Piper Road).

Pre-Registration and payment is required by 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Torpedoes Competitive Swim Team is open to: 

  • Children who are West Springfield Residents and are currently enrolled in Grades K-12 ($120)
    • (Fee = $120 for any additional swimmer in the same household)
  • Children who are Non-Residents currently enrolled in Grades K-12 ($175)

The registration fee is fully refundable if a swimmer decides not to participate or if the Head Coach does not approve of the swimmer's ability on or before May 7th.

Additional Information: 

  • Competitive swimsuits are available for order during registration for an additional fee. Swimsuit sizing available for new/returning swimmers (April 27th - May 7th) from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Sady Pool Lobby Area.
  • Practices take place Monday - Thursday, beginning Monday, April 27, 2026: PRACTICE A: 5:45pm - 6:45pm & PRACTICE B: 6:30pm - 8:15pm depending on the swimmer's ability. Head coach will place swimmer in appropriate swim practice time.
  • Swimmers MUST attend 2-4 practices a week. 
  • Swim Meets will tentatively begin on May 30th.
  • Swimmers must swim in 3 or more meets during the season to participate in League Champs.
  • Children ages 8 & under must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times (meets & practices).
  • Children ages 9 & 10 must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian.

Interested in volunteering? Torpedoes Swim Team is actively looking for individuals to assist the team. 

  • Needed: Deck Duty Supervisors, Swim Meet Volunteers (concessions, timers, stroke & turn officials, etc.)
  • Each swimmer's family is expected to volunteer for 2 halves of swim meets.
  • A Mandatory Parent Meeting will take place on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 6:00PM VIRTUAL (Link will be sent via TeamSnap).

WAYS TO REGISTER:

ONLINE:

Online: 

Online registration is the fastest way to register. Registration & Payment is required by 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

  • Click here to reach our Online Registration Site
  • Log in with your credentials. Contact the Park & Recreation Office (parkandrec@tows.org) in order to verify your username and password or to get help setting up an account.
  • Choose "Torpedoes Swim Team", click the green plus sign next to where it says "Torpedoes Swim Team (Summer Season)", add to cart, and check out. 
  • Continue to the payment screen. This will allow you to use a credit/debit card to pay for your programs. 
  • Check your email! Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, an email newsletter will be sent to you.

IN-PERSON:

In-Person: 

Another option for registration is bringing your paperwork and payment (cash/check ONLY) into the Town Hall. Visit the Park & Recreation Office Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00AM - 4:00PM. A staff member will assist you. Registration & Payment is required by 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

  • Complete a Summer 2026 Torpedoes Registration Form

  • Make checks payable to "Town of West Springfield" or pay in cash. (CASH/CHECK ONLY!)

  • Check your email! The Park & Recreation Office will email you your registration confirmation. Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, an email newsletter will be sent to you.

Using the White Drop Box located on the median outside of the Municipal Office Building is another option for Registration. Registration & Payment is required by 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

  • Complete a Summer 2026 Torpedoes Registration Form
  • Make checks payable to "Town of West Springfield"
  • Write "Park and Recreation Department" on the front of a blank envelope
  • Place in the White Drop Box located outside of the Municipal Office Building at 26 Central St.
  • Check your email! The Park & Recreation Office will email you your registration confirmation. Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, an email newsletter will be sent to you.
