Youth Recreational Soccer Leagues

The West Springfield Park & Recreation Department (WSPR) is pleased to offer Recreational Fall Soccer Leagues for children! WSPR Youth Soccer Leagues provide every child with an opportunity to learn the game, improve their soccer skills, and play in semi-competitive games that are safe and FUN! Our programs serve children ENTERING Grades K-7 in September 2025. WSPR offers two distinct programs:

An INSTRUCTIONAL program for boys and girls ENTERING Kindergarten & Grade 1. Participating children receive basic soccer fundamentals with a 1-hour weekday practice (e.g. dribbling, passing, shooting), followed by (2) 1-hour scrimmages on the weekends - (1) Saturday mornings & (1) Sunday afternoons, with a referee at each game.

A SEMI-COMPETITIVE program for boys and girls ENTERING Grades 2-7. Each team has one practice on a weeknight, 1 game on Saturday mornings &1 game on Sunday afternoons, with a referee at each game.

Practices are scheduled by volunteer coaches according to the coaches’ availability. A coach will contact you with more information regarding specific team practice times prior to the start of the season.

Participants are to bring the following items labeled with the child’s name: their own soccer ball, water bottle, soccer cleats (highly recommended)/sneakers, and MUST have shin guards. Uniforms will be provided by Park & Rec and will consist of a team jersey and matching socks.

To avoid being placed on a wait list, REGISTRATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 25, 2025. Proof of age and residency is required for new participants. Financial Assistance for registration fees is available for qualifying West Springfield residents.

Online: 

Online registration is the fastest way to register. Register by July 25, 2025 to ensure a spot on a team.

  • Click here to reach our Online Registration Site
  • Log in with your credentials. Contact the Park & Recreation Office (parkandrec@tows.org) for a link to reset your username/password or to get help setting up an account.
  • Choose "Rec Soccer Leagues", click the green plus sign next to the age group of your choosing, add to cart, and check out. 
  • Continue to the payment screen. This will allow you to use a credit/debit card to pay for your programs. 
  • Check your email! Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, your child's coach will contact you via phone with detailed information.

 

IN-PERSON:

Another option for registration is bringing your paperwork and payment (cash/check ONLY) into the Town Hall. Visit the Park & Recreation Office Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00AM - 4:30PM. A staff member will assist you. Register by July 25, 2025 to ensure a spot on a team.

  • Complete a 2025 Fall Soccer Leagues Registration Form(PDF, 553KB). 

  • Make checks payable to "Town of West Springfield" or pay in cash. (CASH/CHECK ONLY!)

  • Check your email! The Park & Recreation Office will email you your registration confirmation. Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, your child's coach will contact you via phone with detailed information.

 

DROP BOX:

Using the White Drop Box located on the median outside of the Municipal Office Building is another option for Registration. Register by July 25, 2025 to ensure a spot on a team.

  • Complete a 2025 Fall Soccer Leagues Registration Form(PDF, 553KB).
  • Make checks payable to "Town of West Springfield"
  • Write "Park and Recreation Department" on the front of a blank envelope
  • Place in the White Drop Box located outside of the Municipal Office Building at 26 Central St.
  • Check your email! The Park & Recreation Office will email you your registration confirmation. Approximately 1 week prior to the start of the program, your child's coach will contact you via phone with detailed information.
