Mission

Our mission is to promote, support, and encourage the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences within the West Springfield community.

We believe that people of all ages can benefit from exposure and experiences with the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences, which are nourishment for the body, heart, and mind.

Grants

The West Springfield Cultural Council (WSCC) is one of 329 local cultural councils working in partnership with and funded by the Mass Cultural Council (MCC) to award grants to qualified individuals and organizations for projects that benefit West Springfield and surrounding communities.

Grants range from $250 to $3,000+. Qualifying programs can include musical events, field trips, lectures, shows, art classes, and dance and theater performances.

In September/October of each year, we seek proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs. We
then consider each submitted proposal to determine applicants that successfully meet the funding criteria established by the MCC. We
review all proposals in December and submit a final report to the MCC in January, after which we send approval letters to those applicants who have been awarded grants.

We hold monthly meetings in the rotary room of the West Springfield Public Library to review current projects and to plan new initiatives. All meetings are open to the public.
