West Springfield, MA — The West Springfield Environmental Committee, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is proud to announce the 16th Annual West Springfield Clean Up Day, taking place on Saturday, April 25.

This long-standing community event brings together more than 100 volunteers each year to help beautify the town through litter removal and bulk waste collection. Participants of all ages are encouraged to take part by selecting cleanup locations throughout West Springfield, including parks, roadways, conservation areas, school grounds, and other public spaces.

Volunteers will gather at the West Springfield Middle School cafeteria beginning at 9:30 AM for check-in, where coffee, donuts, and cleanup supplies will be provided. Participants will head out to their selected sites at 10:00 AM, with cleanup efforts continuing until approximately 12:30 PM. Following the cleanup, volunteers are invited back to the middle school for lunch, featuring pizza generously provided by Village Pizza, along with beverages courtesy of Costco.

All participants will be equipped with safety vests, gloves, and trash bags. A limited number of litter grabbers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers are also welcome to bring their own equipment.

As a special thank you, volunteers who check in at the middle school will be entered into a raffle for a gift card to The Butcher Shop, generously donated by Town Councilor Mike LaFlamme and his family, longtime supporters of the event.

Organizers note that the middle school must be cleared by 2:00 PM. Volunteers unable to return borrowed equipment by that time may drop it off later at the Parks & Recreation Department during business hours.

Residents interested in participating are encouraged to register in advance at:
