Birnie Avenue Sidewalk Extension Project

This project comprises multiple phases, with the final intent being to install sidewalks along the entirety of Birnie Avenue.

This is to bring the street into compliance with MassDOT’s Complete Streets Funding Program.

The current phase, Phase I, is expected to provide new sidewalks from the intersection of Morgan Road to Kelly Drive. This will connect the network of existing sidewalks on Gregory Lane, Carriage Lane, Valley View Circle, Jeffrey Lane, Abigail Lane, Hemlock Hill Road, Green Meadow Lane, and Kelly Drive to sidewalks on Morgan Road. On top of sidewalks, construction notes for this project also include ADA curb ramps with high visibility crosswalks on one side of Birnie Avenue from Morgan Road to Jeffrey Lane.
